Coordinated by the World Water Assessment Programme, "the United Nations World Water Development Report 3: Water in a Changing World" is a joint effort of the 26 United Nations agencies and entities that make up UN-Water. It was laid open to the public at the 5th World Water Forum in March, 2009.

WWDR3 covers water, food and energy issues in the world including water-related disaster. ICHARM contributed writing Chapter 11 "Changes in the global water cycle" and Chapter 12 "Evolving hazards - and emerging opportunities".
