The 12th Meeting of the UNESCO IHP Regional Steering Committee and its
associated conference will be held in Adelaide, Australia in the week 22-26 November 2004. Mr. Junichi Yoshitani and Dr. Tsuyoshi Kinouchi participated in the meeting and conference. Mr. Yoshitani expressed PWRI's appreciation for RSC Committee's support to the plan of an international centre for water-related hazard and its risk management in the previous RSC meeting and reported preparatory activities in the past one year since the previous meeting.

In the conference, Mr. Yoshitani presented his analytical assessment for an example of the integrated water management effort in the Tsurumi River Basin, and Dr. Kinouchi presented his hydrological study on effluent-induced increase in stream water temperature in Tokyo.
