Introduction of Advanced Material Team

* Research in AMT

Research in AMT is consist of the following three viewpoints.

utility AMT seeks for the application of new materials and researches the new performance evaluation method and usage of materials.
durability AMT researches the durability and the prevention of rust technology of materials. In addition, AMT researches the reduction of the life-cycle cost and long-term durability evaluation methods.
environment AMT researches the toxic substance of materials and the reduction of the environmental load material. Besides, AMT researches switch to materials reducing environmental load and environmental assessment methods.

These issues will be solved and materials will be enhanced in terms of chemistry mainly.

* Main materials covered in AMT

Metal Materials Stainless Steel, Weathering Steel, Aluminum, Titan, etc.
Inorganic Materials Repair and Reinforce Materials for Cement Concrete, Slag, Chemical Issues of Cement Concrete (such as Alkali-Aggregate Reaction, Salt Damage), etc.
Organic Materials Advanced Asphalt Materials, Paint, FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer), etc.
