Landslide in Higashi-Yokoyama, Ibigawa, Gifu (May 2006)

Landslide (width=150m, height=90m) occurred in Higashi-Yokoyama in Ibigawa Town, Gifu Prefecture ( 12-13th in May, 2006).  Debris from the slide buried the road in the middle, reaching to the river below. By official request from Gifu Prefecture, our team carried out field investigation on the 14th to provide a guideline for emergency measures and subsequent countermeasures. (14th May)

  Sequences of rock falls and small collapses were followed by the major collapse.

12th May (Fri) 2006 20:00      [320×240, 150kbps, 1.76MB]  The center of the slide collapsed (W: 20m, H: 20m).
12th May (Fri) 2006 22:37      [320×240, 150kbps, 5.48MB] The east and west sides of the slide collapsed together (W; 90m, H: 70m). 
13th May (Sat) 2006 7:57      [320×240, 150kbps, 2.88MB] The last major collapse (W: 90m, H: 90m) occurred on the west side of the slide. Debris buried a half of the river course at the toe.
