Mr. Kenzo Hiroki, Principal of ICHARM, was appointed as Vice Chair of Steering Committee, Global Water Partnership (GWP)

Kenzo Hiroki, Principal of ICHARM, was appointed on 9 November 2011, as Vice Chair, Steering Committee of Global Water Partnership (GWP), which is the largest global network on water resources management.

GWP was established in 1996 to promote better water management and currently comprises 2,100 organizations from 150 countries. The Steering Committee is a control tower of GWP governed by a multilateral treaty signed by governments. GWP is a leading network in promoting Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). GWP has operated, jointly with World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Associated Program on Flood Management since 2001, which has been supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan.

Hiroki has served the Steering Committee of GWP since April 2009. He has been engaged in management of GWP as SC Financing and Auditing Sub-committee Member. The appointment was made by Ms. Letitia Obeng, Chair of GWP, with unanimous consent by SC Members. His mandate includes support to Chair and search for a new GWP Chair. The tenure will be until November 2012.
