Message; メッセージ:
The water-related disasters such as floods and debris flows can cause catastrophic flooding, with serious damage to life and property. But, the people have to live in such areas and have to face catastrophic floods caused by heavy rainfall and impact of climate change. Therefore, it is essential to build a resilient society that can sustainably adapt to flood hazards in a changing and uncertain weather conditions. In this context, I would like to address the issues and future challenges in the field of water-related disasters to build a better resilient society.
Main Research Topic(s); 主な研究内容:
  • Development of methods for assessing risk of water-related disasters including damage estimation methods focusing on agricultural sector and residential areas.
  • Prediction and prevention and mitigation of water-related disasters such as floods, debris flows and landslides.
