Editor´s Note

As public relations is a new task for me in order to publish the "Web Magazine", I attended a seminar on publicity last month and learned about difference in publicity between private and public organizations. I learned the while private organizations were required to disseminate information only to the people concerned, public organizations must communicate information to a wide range of people, not only specific individuals. The lecture also went on to say that public organizations had a tendency to publish notices only and go no further than that, and that public organizations should explain what the effects of their results are in an easier-to-understand manner than ever.
This lecture made me rethink whether I had been explaining things in an easy-to-understand manner for the listener.

This issue of the Web Magazine reports on the open house and exhibition events for the public. Many children visited the open house and exhibition events and were able to experience the joy of creation. The tours of research facilities were joined by students as well as specialists, and I heard that many of the students listened enthusiastically to the explanations given by our researchers.
Recently, we often see articles in the news about students' declining academic abilities in science and a loss of interest in science. As PWRI, I hope to know the joy of creation and research and stop the loss of interest in science through offering information, our open houses and other events as a research institution.

The year is almost at an end. We are happy to announce that the successful launch of the Web Magazine and the publication of the second issue. We would like to continue to offer various kinds of information in an easy-to-understand manner and hope that our readers will enjoy the articles.
