Technical Visit at New Tacoma Bridge in Seattle, US

The 22nd workshop was held at Seattle, WA, during 23-28 October 2006. The first three days focused on exchanging recent research and technology through three themes: 1) Geotechnical engineering, 2) Health monitoring, and 3) Advanced seismic technologies. 24 participants from the US and 24 participants from Japan attended the workshop. The later three days involved technical site visits of new construction, seismic retrofit, maintenance of bridges in the Seattle area including the New Tacoma Bridge (see photo).
