Editor´s Note

Technical cooperation to Myanmar was mentioned in PWRI News. Checking Myanmar´s position on the map, I find that it is situated between India and Thailand. Traveling east from there, we pass through Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam before eventually arriving in China. If we enter the Japanese keywords “Myanmar” and “Douro” (road) into an Internet search engine, I find that this region is often mentioned as having great economic possibilities for the future.

PWRI is engaged in exchanges with overseas interests; it receives requests for cooperation from JICA and is visited by overseas researchers. It was for this reason that PWRI decided to launch an English version of its Web Magazine as a means of communicating information to the world.

This past October, we celebrated the passage of one year since the Web Magazine´s inaugural publication. We hope to continue producing a magazine that will be worthy of your readership.
