Technical Visit at Kintai-Kyo Bridge

The Task Committee G (Transportation System) hosted the 19th US-Japan Bridge Engineering Workshop during 27-29 October 2003, at the PWRI Tsukuba Japan. Workshop special themes were: 1) Advancing Technology in Seismic Engineering and 2) Innovative Technology for Extending Bridge Service Lives. Sixteen participants from the US and 45 participants from Japan attended the workshop, and 40 papers were presented. After the workshop, technical site visit around Kyushu and Chugoku regions were held. The workshop was closed with the Resolutions that the 20th Workshop will be held in the US, autumn 2004.
