Our experimental apparatus

|
Unlike the ordinary shearbox test apparatus, this apparatus can measure within the confines of an aluminum ring, the weaker residual shear strength of test samples. The temperature of samples can be changed to measure pore water pressure under differing conditions.

Samples rotated within a doughnut mold of the apparatus provide relatively uniform strain, making it possible to measure unlimited strain. By measuring the residual strength of clay and examining dynamic characteristics such as creep strength, the apparatus provides data for predicting landslide failure.
