Research on technologies to restore the natural environments of rivers and wetlands

To ensure the preservation of rich and abundant natural waterside environments, demands are increasing for technologies that preserve and restore natural environments, and for the implementation of projects that avoid or reduce adverse environmental impact, as well as new projects that enhance the living environments of animal and plant life.

Our current research project examines impact responses on river environments, alterations of river flow quantities, and the environmental functions of waterside vegetated areas. We are also developing examination techniques for the tracking of a variety of wildlife species using IT systems, and researching methods to ascertain the impact of separating waterways (and the causes of the separations) on aquatic life, and measures for the preservation and restoration of aquatic ecological networks.
