Research on methods to enhance the durability and performance of structural materials
Given such social factors as the declining birthrate and the rapid aging of society, coupled with reductions in new investments due to increases in the maintenance and upgrading costs brought about by the aging and expansion of existing infrastructure, we are faced with demands for the effective maintenance of infrastructure. Accordingly, in order to reduce life cycle costs, we are developing technologies with longer life spans by enhancing the durability of structural materials. In addition, we are developing and applying new technologies and new materials that comply with performance regulations, and promoting original and creative technological innovations to develop quality control measures that fully comply with performance regulations for structural materials (earthquake resistance performance). |
