The Innovative Materials and Resources Research Center (iMaRRC) conducts research and development related to construction materials and resources for civil engineering structures. iMaRRC contributes to efficient maintenance and renewal of existing civil engineering structures, performance improvement of construction materials, and achievement of a low-carbon recycling society by pursuing research and development in collaboration with other research institutes.

iMaRRC was established on April 1, 2015, as one of the research centers of the Public Works Research Institute. iMaRRC mainly consists of three research teams from the past: the advanced materials research team, the recycling research team, and the concrete and metallic materials research team. The research projects of iMaRRC are related to the development of durable construction materials, practical application of advanced and innovative construction materials, and efficient utilization of construction wastes and energy.
